Lundberg Family Farms Earns Stewardship Honor
Richvale, CA (Vocus) May 20, 2009 --- Lundberg Family Farms (www.lundberg.com), the nation's leading producer of organic rice and rice products, is the 2009 "Agricultural Stewardship Award" winner for "excellence in conserving, maintaining and improving our natural resources and environment by using innovative and progressive business practices."
The award is co-sponsored annually by the California Chapter of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) and Western Agricultural Services.
"This award is especially meaningful to us because it's presented to farmers by farmers," said Jessica Lundberg, Chairman of the Board for Lundberg Family Farms and a member of the third generation of the Lundberg family to manage the business. "We work hard to care for our land responsibly, and it's gratifying when our farming colleagues take notice."
The Agricultural Stewardship Award is the latest in a string of prestigious industry awards earned by the family-owned rice grower. Earlier this year, the company won the 2008 "Top Small Workplace" designation by Winning Workplaces, a non-profit group, and The Wall Street Journal; earned the "California Workplace of the Year" award presented by The Employer Resource Institute for its employee wellness programs; and a "California Fit Business" bronze award from the California Task Force on Youth and Workplace Wellness
The American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) is recognized as the premier organization for rural property professionals, providing excellent education, networking opportunities, and legislative representation for its members.
Since 1937, the Lundberg Family has been growing rice and producing rice products at their farms in the Sacramento Valley. Lundberg Family Farms uses eco-positive farming practices to produce wholesome, healthful rice products while protecting and improving the environment for future generations. Eco Friendly Clothing - Versatile and Stylish Eco Friendly Clothing
What makes clothing eco friendly? For the most part, it is all in the materials used to make them. Clothing made from natural fibers, such as hemp, bamboo, and cotton is considered to be more environmentally friendly than synthetic fabrics. Typically clothes made from natural fibers are some combination, such as 80% bamboo and 20% cotton. This is generally because, besides being more expensive than cotton, hemp and bamboo are not as comfortable in 100% forms of fabric. The cotton softens them up and offers a little stretch. To be truly classified as eco friendly they should be organic, meaning the plants were grown without the use of pesticides.
Three Reasons Eco Friendly Business Promotional Items Are On The Rise
The environment is big business. Nobody wants to be seen as environmentally irresponsible, so companies put everything from internal practices to promotions through a fine-toothed comb. But when it comes to business promotional items, choosing eco-friendly products is nowhere near the burden it used to be. Located in Central Ontario, Promos Canada specializes in selling a wide variety of eco-friendly promotional products. Over the years the company has greatly expanded its range of environmentally friendly promotional products. Here are three developments they cite as being critical in the development of eco-friendly options for almost every major business promotion.
